Frame Testing & Certification

If your motorcycle has been in an accident, or if you have bought or are selling a pre-owned bike, Oz-racing's frame testing services can give you an accurate assessment of the geometry of your motorcycle. Many assessors or shops only perform a cursory check on the integrity of the frame when the bike is being inspected.

Based in Brisbane, Oz-racing Mechanical & Engineering is the only workshop in Queensland that is qualified and equipped to offer frame testing and certification services; giving you peace of mind before you head out onto the road.

Frame Testing

Oz-racing's new computer based electronic measuring system accurately checks the geometry of your motorcycle frame and issues you with a report. We can also check your forks, subframes, rims; in fact just about anything that can be measured.

Our precision system has an articulated arm that touches and records predetermined points on a motorcycle in 3 dimensions. It connects immediately to the relevant manufacturer and compares the data recorded from your bike against manufacturer's tolerances. The process takes around 90 minutes.

Frame Certification

Where required, Oz-racing Mechanical & Engineering can also issue a Queensland Transport and insurance company approved certificate, which either:

guarantees that the geometry of the motorcycle is within manufacturer's tolerances; or
certifies that the frame, swing-arm, sub-frame, rims, forks etc are damaged.

Accident damaged motorcycles

In our opinion every accident damaged bike should be checked properly for alignment to guarantee the safety of the rider. If your motorcycle has been in an accident and the geometry of your bike is damaged beyond repair, a certification issued by Oz-racing Mechanical & Engineering means that Queensland Transport is immediately notified and your motorcycle is written off. This eliminates the need for insurance assessors and speeds up the insurance process.

Engineer certified

We are able to check any motorcycle's alignment and certify whether it is within the manufacturer's tolerances. This type of certification must be issued by an engineer using the correct equipment.

Pricing

We charge a flat rate of $300.00 to set up the computer based electronic measuring system, test the geometry of any or all parts of your motorcycle, and issue the report and/or certification. Please note the whole process takes approximately 90 to 120 minutes, depending on your requirements.

Payment method is by cash only. We regret to advise that we do not have a credit card facility due to the high monthly fees imposed by banks.
